Tiles add character and style to bathrooms, entrances, hallways and kitchens like no other material, it evokes a feeling of strength and durability and offers more colours than you can imagine. Porcelain or Ceramic tiles are both classic and contemporary, are easy to install and very cost efficient. Marble, granite, limestone and slate will make that first impression a lasting one. Many sizes are available for most tiles and the variation of even two tiles adds a unique pattern that can be further enhanced with listellos, borders and caps. When choosing one tile from the other, consider the texture and character, the differences are unique and installation of each will be different. The sharper, beveled cut of porcelains, marble and granite will require less grout and the resulting appearance will be more like a sheet than a grid. Heavier textured edges on tile will require about a ¼” of grout but that too is a design consideration and has its own appeal.
